Englewood has a diverse tax base and has experienced stability in its finances with no furloughs or layoffs required during 2020.
The Finance Director reports to the City Manager and serves as part of the City’s Executive Leadership Team. The Finance Director oversees and manages all activities of the Finance Department, including: Accounting, Procurement, Revenue and Budget, Risk Management and Utility Billing. There are approximately 20 FTEs in the department.
The City has an annual operating budget of $100 million and $140 million with utilities. Englewood is a full-service City except for fire and emergency services which are handled by the City and County of Denver. There are approximately 400 full time and 42 part time employees serving the City of Englewood.
Candidates are expected to have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s Degree, CPA or CPFO designation is a plus. Candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of management experience and 8 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting and/or budget. A combination of experience and education may be substituted for these qualifications. Candidates must be highly collaborative with excellent communication skills. Starting salary is $117,348 - $149,000 +/- DOQ. The full salary range extends to $176,000. The City offers a comprehensive benefits package and residency is NOT required.
